I believe unity in the church is crucial but at the same time we are not to unequally yoke ourselves with those who will bring us down. Right is right, and wrong is wrong. God does not hesitate to call out a wrong. The church must be built on truth, not tolerance and compromise. If we do not stand on God’s foundational character we will fall and fail, as a church, to be the people our Lord calls us to be.

The Lord has been talking to me about not being pulled into concession, altruism, and covenant (Websters actually defines “compromise” as “covenant.”) with falsehood. When Holy Spirit says, “No, this is not to be.” We must respond and stand for truth, in love. Love is truth and truth IS love. Truth may not “feel” loving, but that is not important. We must deliver it out of the loving intent of our heart, and let God deal with how it is received. If we fail to plant the seed of truth, how will truth grow? God does not make excuses or downplay HIS word simply because humanity doesn’t like it.

As with the subject of “Passive/Aggressiveness” being a great plague in America right now, passive/aggressive people are all about compromise, tolerance, pacification (Webster’s: reconciliation), comfort and altruism; basically they “covenant with deception” in the name of peace.

God’s people simply must step up to the plate and “stand for something,” even if it’s uncomfortable, or we will never save our Country from it’s downhill slide away from God, and into destruction. The concept of “peacefulness” at all costs is not from God. When the Israelites entered their “Promised Land” they were to wipe the enemy out. One of those inhabitants was “the spirit of compromise.” God’s people are not fighting “souls,” we are standing for the Spiritual truth of the Gospel. We simply must “shod our feet with the Gospel of Peace” so we can run (speak) with the truth and stand firm in HIM. As with every other piece of armor we are to wear, the Gospel of Peace is apparel for war. War isn’t pretty or comfortable. If we are going to enter our promised land we must war against compromise and tolerance, which accept lack of integrity within the church in the name of maintaining “peace and unity.”
